Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - POLYTECH/CHINESE M1A soft-point ammo question

I would like to know if anyone that has one of these guns is running the factory Remington or Winchester ammo, particularly soft point (hunting) ammo thru these?  I have heard but do not know if there are any issues with these guns when using American soft point ammo?

I ran some 180gr softpoints through one of mine. Worked fine.

Supposedly you can shave some lead off during feeding and if a piece gets in the chamber bad ju ju can occur. I plan to use A max bullets if I ever hunt with mine.

Mines a Springer M1A, Ive shot a bunch of winchester soft points out of mine with no issues. I wouldnt think a Poly would be much different.

I've been told to limit your loads to 168 gr when it comes to the m14/m1a, anything heavier will beat the rifle to death.
