They are good pistols. Forged but some rough machine spots. They are excellent for builds.

I like mine, i bought it back in 93" for $249 retail

it's a basic GI style M1911A1

all the parts are interchangable with a USGI M1911A1

except for the grip screw bushings [grip screws are interchangable]

yes, any 1911 magazine fits

Wish I could find one for under $450-500.

Mine has been solid. I found it NIB for $400 last year. I cleaned it up and it shot fine out of the box, but it had a very heavy, gritty trigger. I've replaced all of the internals and have the trigger down to 4 lbs, nice and clean. It's a good shooter and I haven't had a single problem.

As mentioned above, VERY rough, but also VERY tough. Hard metal, that with a little polishing, cleans up nice.
It's a good base to build on.

Good guns! I too got mine in the 90's for $239.

Wow sounds like i got a deal.

$239 at a pawnshop with 1 mag and taller 3 dot metal sights.

so do cheap 1911 mags work good (the surplus kind) or do i have to buy expensive name brand ones?

Whatever mags that work good in any other 1911 will work fine in the Norinco. USGI 45 mags will run fine, Cleatus!

Love mine no failures yet of any kind. Just blacked it out. Lower is not done yet.

I got one as a gift in the early 90's. For a Chicom gun it is very good. I have left it stock, and it will feed ball and most hp's without problems. One of the two supplied magazines however, was of poor quality and would cause jams.

Not the best pic,

Any mag will work, but I like wilson.

Too bad they can't be shipped to the US though...

You will find no better value in a USGI 1911 out of the box. Some $$$ and a good smith and you will have as good a custom fire breathing .45 slug thrower as ANY other 1911 out there.
