it's a good shooter, but today, my bushing broke. i clear just broke while shooting it.  i didn't even realize it. i fired a round and the slide went ALL the way back, i thought it was odd, so i pushed the slide forward and fired again. same thing happened. then i realized my bushing was broke and the spring and guide rod cap were gone. the cap went about 35ft downrange and the spring was found about 2ft in front of me.  i also have an issue with the base of the guide rod having LOTS of wear.

i'm probably going to switch to a regular 1911 w/ a Marvell unit.

i really liked this, but the quality of it seems to be lacking now.

send an e-mail to ATI they should get you taken care of fast I am sorry to hear this but it could be a fluke though I have read about many that love there ati1911 handguns. Give them a chance to make it right I think they will take care of you. then try again and if she fails to hold up then vent away. My KIMBER tactical II .45 ACP I had to send it back 3 times and they still never got it running right I had to put a new giude rod and wolf spring now she is good to go but I couldn't beleive  a 900 dollar gun could be that crappy It is a solid gun now. Sad I had to do it on my own and pay all the shipping to them for nothing My next 1911 will be para or springfield. Good luck and could you post some pics of the the damage I am curious as to what it looks like. the broke parts anyways and the gun . if not no sweat

They are sending out free steel bushings to replace the Zamak "pot metal" bushings that came with the early guns.  Don't give up one this gun yet.

I've got a Kimber Rimfire Target .22LR pistol that is aluminum alloy, but I just take out my GSG-1911.  It is more dependable so far.  Eats most any ammo like candy.  Kimber is finicky and needs high powered expensive stuff.
