I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to advertise a high-end custom .45?
I most comfortable here but fully realize that this is primarily a black gun crowd.
Any suggestions?

The pistol is a full house Tactical on a Springfield base gun done by Larry Vickers.

Thanks in advance for the help.

There is a handgun forum here also...may be a good place to start. BTW, I'll trade you a pre-ban NEF single shot 12 for it.(drool on the keyboard)

1911.com does not allow firearms
to be posted in their for sale forum.

Try here.

A lot of one post
then SOLD
full house customs.

Thanks all! I serf 1911forum but, as stated, they don't allow sales. Plenty of folks looking for one over there, though.

Might not be good etiquette, but I am dyeing to know what a full custom Vickers goes for. What's your asking price?

$3700.00 is what I'll be asking.

Want my two cents? If so, I'll trade them for your Vickers.... LOL, just kidding.

Anyway, unless you're really hard-up for cash, I would implore you to NOT SELL that pistol. You may regret it for the rest of your life. I always try to think long-term, and sometimes there are alternative solutions to short-term problems (especially if they're monetary).

I'd work a 2nd job for a month or two if it meant keeping that precious Vickers gun. Besides, my motto has always been "Never sell your guns!" I have followed this all but twice...once was to give my college roomate a .357 to protect his family, and the 2nd time was to get rid of a gun I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in (and I doubt that Vickers custom is disappointing).

Hope you keep it for your sake!

Keep that pistol!

No doubt that Larry is not producing any new pistols right now. He's probably off doing his "real" job. Not that we'll ever know exactly what he did, but....

He's one of the top 10 (maybe 5 working) 1911 pistolsmiths. Are you sure you really want to let a Vickers gun get away from you?

Unless of course you just got your new Vickers, are a month away from your Heinie custom, are on Dane Burns' short list, have something pending with Ned, etc....

EDIT: Forgot to add that if you want to sell it fast, for a good price, and have it go to someone who will appreciate it for what it is, no doubt that www.pistolsmith.com is the place to do that. Dane Burns is the owner of that website and is one heck of a guy, as well as a fantastic 1911 smith.
