I have thought about a helmet for my kit
off & on for a while. But it dawned on
me that I would be interested in springing
for something more than just a bump cap
for the test flying phase for my experimental
aircraft this spring, hopefully.

I would like something that I can wear
Dave Clarkes with. I found some pics
in this thread, but the names are vague
that go with the pics.

I like the 5th one down, but I assume it is ballistic rated...

Any input would be appreciated.

What you really want is the Ops-Core Ballistic helmet, but it costs about a grand, if you can find it.

Otherwise, for balistic protection, you should be thinking ACH/MICH style.

Then of course there are the older GI helmets, etc..

Most of the other modern version are just glorified skate board 'bump' helmets.
