Assuming a person in New York State legally owns a rifle that accepts detachable magazines, are there restrictions on shipping 30rnd magazineshanks

* are there restrictions on shipping 30rnd magazines to them?

NY's law looks the same as the Fed-there should not be a problem if it is a preban magazine. I am not sure about NYC. The magazine would be illegal to possess in the City of Rochester.

Don't know if there are any municipal regulations against it there-Rochester's goofy laws are the only one I know of off the top of my head

NYC and the 5 surrounding boroughs

What he said. The vast majority of New York state has no issue... only the 5 boroughs of NYC are restricted from having detachable magazines over 10 rounds. The legal responsibility falls on the person who lives or receieves the mags, not the shipper. The law is against posession... they cannot govern those living in another state. However, to escape legal entanglements, most vendors just plain wont ship hicaps to NYC.... nor do I. If you live or can receive these mags outside of that area, you are fine. |

- Sorry about the mayonnaise, guys.

yup, as long as the final destination is not in NYC you are legal to ship to NY state.

NY's laws on high caps do indeed mirror the Feds, from what I know of the federal high cap ban
here's the law caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/nycodes/law82/art68.html under the definitions at the top
