Hum, I didn't have a complaint yet about my current examiner. Hopefully it does make things go smoother. In theory it should work.
Link Posted: 6/16/2011 9:37:29 AM EDT
Well hopefully there's no massive reorganization period in which nothing gets done.

I hope it becomes faster!

It seems like they are being smart, only new forms will be re-routed to after July(My understanding of it), so hopefully it works out.

I hope so..

I wonder what their quotas are per week.. Judging by the time I would say it's similar to Disability/welfare, which is 9 cases a week.

Yeah no more Farris!  Pickles.......hmmmm, are we still getting shafted?

"Unprecedented and ever increasing application volume."  That about says it all.  Not sure how I feel on the subject considering all the extra interest (attention) may be good or bad for our once somewhat unknown hobby.

Why is there an NFA examiner assigned to IL, when all NFA items are forbidden by state law in IL?

I know that recent SCOTUS decisions have invalidated the IL ban on NFA, but the law is still on the books and no one has challenged it yet.

Someone explain this if you can.

Ok, that makes sense.

Sometimes its easy to forget that there are still a few gun makers here in this state.

The politicians who run Chicago (and therefore run the entire state) HATE guns and hate gun owners.

Also, they are being assigned based on the APPLICANT'S state. So actually it would be any 2's, 3's and 5's going OUT of Illinois. All of these MFG's listed above MAKE NFA stuff, so they would still need examiners.

I'm just glad I still have Dana Pickles

Lucky bastard!  He (?) looks to be one of the fastest bureaucrats yet.

I'll get Nicole Dudash - who appears to take more than TWICE as long from pending to approval per NFAtracker.com.

This is actually a step up for me. My last transfer was through Frushour.

see ive had Snook, Dudash and Santamaria, but not the guy assigned to FL now
Link Posted: 6/17/2011 1:23:03 AM EDT
So I have two forms ready to send in––do I now wait the two weeks to see what happens?

My "normal" examiner is Nancy Flanigan, it would now be Dana Pickles.

Link Posted: 6/17/2011 2:14:19 AM EDT
I have one I will be needing to send in shortly.  I too wonder if I should wait until 7/1 and send it to Pickles or go ahead and send it into Flannigan now.  UM I don't see Flannigans name on that list.
Link Posted: 6/17/2011 7:07:04 AM EDT
Looks as if the reduction to 10 examiners is permanent.  I certainly wouldn't wait on sending forms in right now...it's just a couple weeks until July and you know your forms won't go pending until a few weeks from sending them in so the likelihood of not getting the examiner listed is small.

Al is probably one of the best there. My friend was quite upset to learn he was losing Al as the examiner for his business.

Just had one from him Recently... Helped a friend sell a Uzi out of State, Forms left here on Feb 24th, Got stamped June 2nd. Shipman was the examiner. (F4; AZ individual to OR Dealer)

Yep I have had one take that long and two come back a month sooner with him.  For my 3 the average has been about 72 days from the time shipped to the time received.

I can't complain. My transfer through Frushour was 3 months from mailing to receipt of the can, and it looks like Mr. Pickles is faster according to NFA tracker.

I wonder if this tiny batch of government employees knows what major celebrities they are on NFA boards?

I've had Santamaria and Pickles and both were quick. Hope Shipman is just as quick for my next can.

Dana Pickles is the 8th examiner we've had and he's THE BEST BY FAR!!!!!!

The man is efficient, communicates well and is exceedingly easy to work with.

The ATF should clone him - he's a Form processing MACHINE.

Dana Pickles is a beast

She quit, she's not gone yet, but she can't be replaced due to a hiring freeze.

I will loan you the money.
I will send it to your local bank.  Just go down there and say you are there for the money.  They will try to act dumb, so if they don’t respond right away, say something about the machine gun, silencers, etc.  and insist they hand it over.  The money will be there, I promise.

Arg, I've been Snooked!  Although I don't know who has my current form 4s, it could still be the SS.

ETA:  Not currently Snooked, my form 4s are in Sara Jones' hands.

I had Dudash.

I am trying to figure out of they went regional weighted by # of forms processed per year or what?  AK should have been stuck in with OR WA and ID.
