That almost seems too good to be true. Is there any way you can inspect it, and/or fire it? If everything checked out, I would jump on it ASAP. Even if it has some mechanical "issues", it's still an excellent deal.

Is it a dewatt? Even if it is, might just be tacked shut. I'd do some more looking at it, but yeah, sounds like a screaming deal.

Shoot he's a good friend of mine... He pulled it all apart on the counter and we talked about it for 30 minutes... It's legit!
I planned on calling him this morning and telling him I'll take it, so he'll set it aside for me. But I just wanted someone who knows about Sten's to say it was a smokin' deal... I mean Hell, as I was standing there looking at it, I knew in the back of my mind that $1900 was cheap. So when I got home and started looking at them online, the cheapest prices I saw where in the $4000 starting range! - Clint |

definately buy it. sten mags are cheap, 9mm isn't too bad and $1900 for a transferable sten is a steal.

Will be calling him in 2 1/2 hours.... Already pulled $2K out of the safe, and have been searcing the interwebs for Sten parts kits and mags...

Sten mags $15
Looks like they've doubled in price over 2 years. I bought a half dozen of these for a Masterpiece Arms 9mm & they all worked fine. |

Let down of the century... he says he wants to keep it for a while, but will give me first dibs!
 
Apparently he was just relaying to me how much he paid for it... not that he wanted to sell it to me for $1900.... which is odd becuase of the way the conversation went doen. I could have sworn that he was telling me a price for me to buy it....

I almost bought a Mac 10 off of him for $1900 2 years ago...so it didn't surprise me when he threw the price out there... I just thought he got it from one of his customers on consignment... - Clint |

The market is real soft right now ... but still, the best price I've seen lately for a transferable STEn was $3,200. OTOH, if the economy keeps getting worse and worse, the day may come when he wishes he had sold it to ya for $1.9k.
Transferable MGs are toys, and as such, you buy them with disposable income. And there are fewer and fewer people with disposable income.

A dealer friend of mine has a STEN (tube gun, not a C&R) that he'll sell me for what he has into it, which is $3500. I'm trying to figure out what I can sell out of the safe to generate the cash. I already have 40+ mags for it since I used to use them in my 9mm AR.
