OK, maybe not, but...

I took my GF out to the range (second time).  I was on my AR shooting 100yards, scoped.  She was nice enough to spot for me (I was sighting a crappy Simmons 44mag).  She refused to shoot the AR.  So she went to the car because she "didn't feel good".  

So we went to the handgun range ("oh, I feel better now").  We shot about a hundred rounds through the Glock 23.

At first she kept on shooting the b-24 in nuts and then his arms.  So I showed her why she was shooting low.  I also showed her how to breath and how not to try to compensate for the recoil.  She started shooting a lot better.  

At last I showed her how to feel when the trigger was going to break with about twenty pulls of dry-fire.  Oh my god - I unleashed a monster!! My little freak of nature started shooting consistently in the x-ring and 10-ring in five shot groups!!!!  Talk about getting a hard-on!!

After she started shooting very well, she realized that she has potential just like anyone else and mentioned that the range had competitions every third Sunday of the month (IDPA).  She wants to go!!!!!  (I have been trying to get her to go out there for a year now)

I think our relationship just went to a whole new level...  

How well do your women shoot?

Mine's mediocre on rifles, pretty good on the trap range, and is pretty wicked with a handgun.  She has her own Sig P239, Glock 19, Beretta AL390 and Romanian SAR-1.  Don't come in without an invitation!

I dont take my wife to the range anymore, it costs to much.

My Wife is just a natural when it comes to shooting rifle, handgun, or archery. She has real trouble getting the hang of busting clay birds with the shotgun. She doesn't seem to be able to get the hang of pointing and shooting, when it comes to standing there and putting a bead or crosshairs on something she is great. She is in fact the best off hand shot I have ever seen with a center fire rifle. This includes better than me, my shooting friends or any other person who ever happened to be at the range when we were shooting. She is very good with the 1911, has several club level IPSC trophies and one that says she was the best female IPSC shooter in the state back in the mid 80's. Tomorrow night we shoot on the archery league and she will be in the top 5 or 6 highest scores out of 28 shooters. But now I see a dark cloud on the horizon for our shooting days together, She took up Golf last summer and it kind of pisses me off that she wants to dedicate so much time to it. She has never really worked hard at shooting it just came natural for her. Golf is never going to be her great sport and all she does is practice and talk about it and walk around the house swinging an imaginary club. I hate golf. I am starting to look at it as the beginning to an end of a great relationship! I hope this golf thing passes.

I think you are a little too insensitive to your wife's needs.

What you should do is negotiate a plan so you both can have fun, together.  

How about a day at the range, shooting golf balls from 100 meters while utilizing a putter and a sand-wedge as a bipod?

I think you are onto something there.
The thing that bothers me about the golf is it takes control of people. I seen it happen to my Dad and brother, they have now gained control over there own lives and can go play golf and then forget it.
I must say that not all my expieriences with golf courses are bad. I was raised real close to one and was there version of Carl Spackler? (Bill Murray in Caddy Shack) I was the Woodchuck control specialist with my 243 rifle!
It was very rural back then, no houses around the course like there is now. I can tell you there is nothing like lying right on the tee off and smoking a chuck way down the fairway. Could never do that now with all the houses and the course being so crowded.

My 5'2" 92 pound girlfriend of 8 years will pick up my AR15, 40Xb in 308 or Police and consistantly run sub MOA until we leave the range!  No joke guys, she's deadly and it came down on both sides of her family, her mom's an ace in trap and her dad was in handgun comp for many years.  Anyway, she doesn't like the recoil of the 308 that much, but its heavy enough to be somewhat nice to her!  Really feels like a less sharp 243 with all that weight!  For her birthday, guess what she asked for?  I shit you not...her own AR15!  I've got her wellllll disciplined folks!  Sucks I couldn't get the gun for her though, but she was just as happy with her little frilly chick gifts I got her! (And a box of 69gr match ammo!)

IMHO...not with a P7M8, she can't.    Stay Safe

 Mrs Ops is the daughter of a police firearms instructor and competition shooter.  She is a little rusty on gunhandling but an excellent marksman.  Most women with an interest in shooting usually become excellent shooters, as they are easier to train, less ego in the way.She does like the AR, lotsa bark but little recoil.  She is quite competent with the revolver, as this is what Dad trained her to shoot.  I pity anyone who goes after the peeps - she would track them the Hell and back until she found them and gave them a .357 vasectomy..

That is great!! My GF shoots with us occasionally (she is still working out a trigger jerk)
If you and she cant wait for the 3rd Sunday we are having an IDPA match this Sunday 2/3/02 at our range in Johnson City. It is about an hour drive North of San Antonio. I have quite a few people who come up from San Antonio to shoot with us. It is a nice drive!! We would love to have Y'all!! Look on our website for a map and directions.
