Here she is:
 She's thirty-two inches and five and a half pounds of 6.8 SPC goodness. That's five and a half pounds with the Burris SpeedDot. I admit, she won't do you much good in societal breakdown or a zombie attack, but she's beautiful to me. But I have to ask: What would Zumbo think? |

I've always wanted to own a TC Contender; fell in love with them since I saw one in 1993, nice 14 inch barrel, chambered in .243 with a Tasco scope and in satin stainless with walnut furniture. Very nice.

Eighteen EVIL inches, which is optimal length for 6.8 SPC. This is their standard blue barrel, which I had cut and recrowned and refinished in Cerakote Graphite Black. One of the very first handguns I ever fired was a Contender in 44 Mag. This frame is one of the old models that I got on a trade. The new G2 models are much nicer. They open a lot easier, and T/C fixed the trigger and hammer so that it can be cocked, dropped, and re-cocked without opening the action. However, the jaguar/cougar engraving on the side is gone  .- Tim |

Not only that but it is useful for all sorts of other things like those long lonely nights in the field.....  BTW, nice rifle, I wanted one for a long time myself. |

I was surprised how accurate it is, for a light rifle. I was able to get 1 MOA 5-shot groups, with no load tuning, and I'm not a good shot. |

I really like it too, I saw the thread on your industry forum page, but I think the barrel needs threading and a suppressor, too
. Just a little more to make it a little more evil. In defence of the current set up though, that would make the rifle less handy.

Contenders are so simple I can't imagine them putting one in that couldn't be disabled easily. And for $100 you can take your barrel to a gunsmith and he can thread it anyway you want. If it's for 6.8 SPC, make it 5/8"x24tpi threads, and you can use any .308 flash hider or muzzle break. Some day I just might go ahead and do that! |
