Is there any type of mounting hardware that will allow mounting an ACOG on a standard 10/22 receiver? I'd really like to do this, but Googling didn't find anything. With all the stuff available for the 10/22, there must be something made for this -

You could probably get one of the flattop mounts (ARMS, LaRue) to fit one of the aftermarket rails. It would be pretty high. Why?

I've seen Weaver rails advertised - would one of these work with a TA-51 or ARMS 19/19s?
Why? It sounds like a good match. I have a full auto Norrell 10/22 and a couple of ACOGs not mounted on anything. Since I need reading glasses, the open sights don't work for me - I've found that ACOGs are great.

Use one of the TPS bases (www.tpsproducts.com/products.php?cat=50) and the flat-top adapter would work. The ACOG will probably be a little on the tall side, but nothing that a cheekpiece could not fix.

I had a U.S. Optics SN-4 mounted on my integrally suppressed 10/22. Be very careful of the ammount of weight you place on screws set in the 10/22 aluminum receiver, it's VERY easy to strip the screws with a heavy scope.

Thanks. I just ordered one of their aluminum bases. I'll post a pic if this works out.

TAG because I want to see the pics

Here it is with the ACOG mounted. Fit right on. Haven't had the chance to sight in yet, but I'm sure it will work great.

So - you have $800 glass on a $300 rifle? Optics calibrated for 200 to 300 meters, on a weapon with an effetive range of 50.

Dude - I can wear a speedo! But just because I can - doens't mean I should.

Thanks for the chuckle.

I DID MISS the Full Auto Norrel Part! Which makes it even funnier.

Look - I'm just hacking on you guys a little bit. I love my 10/22 [into which I've pumped far too much money] but seriously.

So I spent big bux on a 10/22. See what $$$$$ FA adds to an M16A2 over an AR-15A2. Check out prices for an American 180 (like $10,000 for "just a 22"). Since I bought the Norrell earlier this year I've seen 2 or 3 advertised at quite a bit more than I paid. And guess what - It'll be worth more next year. Who's laughing now?

Seriously, you can't lose going FA. I passed on a Colt RR last year for $8500 & TWO NIB MAC11/9s for $5000 total earlier this year. Now, I feel stupid. I'd really like an HK sear, but I'm too stupid to cough up the cash - at least for now.

Anyway, back to the 10/22. The Norrell integral suppressor is really quiet. I just installed a Weaponcraft buffer & this should quiet the action some. The loudest thing is the little 40 grain bullet hitting the target, but alot of suppressed 22's are like this. The nice thing about the Norrell is that it slows supersonic ammo to subsonic. Dynapoints & CCI minimags come out of this thing like a string of baby farts. I've used hi cap Butler Creek steel lips & the cheap Eagles & they all work great. Another nice thing is that the 10/22 is alot like the AR - lots of aftermarket stuff. A FA Krinker Plinker with the short barrel sounds tempting. Finally, I won't break the bank shooting 22's all day long. And best of all, my wife likes it too.

PS - Here's another chuckle. My Colt M16A1 wears a Kuehl 22 upper & it has an ACOG on it too!

very nice. It always bugs me when people talk trash about other peoples rifles. Nobody likes their 10/22 the same, so get over it. I dont talk trash about your choice in firearms so please dont do so for others on the site. If you like it great, if not just move along.

My first thought is that this is crazy. But as I think about it ,it kind of makes for an interesting choice.
I have busted on some of my buds for putting a 3X9 scope on a 10/22 .The only thing a lot of power on a rimfire is good for is distance targets, and the long tube kind of makes it clumsy. My general shooting 10/22 is usually wearing a 1.5X5 compact scope usually set somewhere in the middle.I recall going to a rimfire fun match with unknown targets and one stage was bowling pin tops scattered around, most of the guys who were actually better shots than me were wasting lots of time trying to find the targets in their high power scopes and I did fairly good with my mostly stock 10/22 (a little trigger work) and this cheep simionds scope set dow on low power (and wide field of view).
Most any offhand shooting is not going to improve with much more power than the 4X of the acog . Of course it is sort of over the top but this only seems right on a very over the top gun.Hope you have lots of fun with it,I would love to try out something like that!

Looks cool to me. The "find" for me in this thread are those TACITCAL INC. magazines!
FINALLY!!!! no more gay-ass plastic shit. Gimme something BLACK and aluminum. Very cool. The last magazine I'll ever need for a 10/22.

I've always been bummed that Ruger never made a BLACK plastic 25 round mag w/steel lips.
Link Posted: 10/3/2005 8:49:30 AM EDT
I have been wondering how those new magazines work....any reports?

What really amazes me is that nobody has yet come out with a 30 or 50 round stamped metal mag for the 10/22

i think the whole 'over the top' thing is what makes it so cool here
My 10/22 is still bone stock and I want to go ridiculous on it too hat

Anyone know of a one for 22LR?

You put some paper out at 200m and put 50 rounds of .22lr down range... Let us know how you do.

www.remington.com/ammo/rimfire/22rfammo.htm#ballistics
Zero at 50m, drop of between 1.2" and 2.6" at 100M, your best guess at 200m.

Where did you get the parts, jtl1952?

What would really take the cake is putting on one of those twin drum magazines you sometimes see on the cover of those Military/LEO weapons and tactics magazines.

Anyone know of a one for 22LR?

Actually, this was a complete gun from John Norrell. I bought it off a guy who bought it a few years ago and never had it transferred to him from his dealer. I think it was NEW when I got it. The MGW is the highest capacity (50 rnds) mag I know of that's in production. I have one but haven't tried it yet in this gun.

Finally found the MWG magazine. How long to empty it by bumpfiring? hty.gif

I tried the MGW mag with full auto today. First with Winchester Dynapoints. These are not recommended by John Norrell because of the ported suppressor. Had to pull the trigger three times to empty the 50 rounds - had three empties caught by the bolt before they could eject all the way. Then I tried CCI Mini Mags, which are recommended by John. Pulled the trigger once & all 50 went down the pipe. AWESOME!
+1 for the MGW mag.
