So I got a great deal on a Mossberg 500 with the breacher barrel.
The only problem is the gun came with the chainsaw grip which i do not like (and will be selling on EE soon).
I took that attachment off but I do not like the tactical forearm (too bulky).
I looked in vain to find a forearm with the strap on it, which I think looks good on this style shotgun.
Alas, Mossberg does not sell this as an accessory. I think I can make my own just need some imput and pics of the strap.
I ordered a standard Mossberg plastic forearm from Brownell's but I would like to know what type and size screw to use,
I have an old black nylon sling I can use for the strap.
Any input would be helpful.

I got mine off ebay a couple years back.
You do need the stock fore grip, and you need to drill
4 holes, and it came with 4 small screws, IIRC.
Here's a pic of it attached on my Mav 88 (mossy 500)

I think I can make my own, what size screw do you think they are?
Are the holes in the strap reinforced?
And you just drill holes in the forearm and then screw the screws in, no bolts on the inside?
And what is the length of strap.
Sorry for all questions but I don't want to screw this up.

IIRC, You only drill 4 small pilot holes, just make sure they're not bigger than the screws themselves.
My strap came with 4 small wood type screws, powdercoated black (as per seller) and the
holes were reinforced with small metal rings.

I took a pic, next to a ruler, this would give you an idea how long it is:
(note: the mounting holes folds inwards about 3/4 of an inch from each side)
