Anyone have or had one of the Mossberg MVP series of rifles that uses AR mags?

When I first saw them, I thought it was a cool concept but wasnt too interested in the varmint configurations. I thought at the time that if they ever made a light weight carbine version with a 16-18" threaded barrel, I might pick one up.

Low and behold, the MVP Patrol.

I'm thinking this rifle with the Nikon P-223 3x and and few 20 round Pmags would be a handy little package.

They are like hen's teeth. Very, very scarce and most dealers can't get them, or they say, "what is that thing".
It's as if Mossberg did the advertisement, then decided to wait a LONG time to put them on the market.
I have known about them since December, but have been unable to find one anywhere.

needs more 1/7...

I would be very interested in one with a 1/7 barrel and a folding or collapsable stock

They make one with a pistol grip and M4 stock. The twist is 1/9 because it was originally developed as a varmint rifle.

I've got the 24" barreled version, great shooter and accurate with 55gr Remington green box crap(1/2" groups). Thought it was going to a bit long when I bought it, but I have carried it hunting for some long treks in the desert and its decent and balanced with a bipod attached. 55gr vmax and zmax with tac are really accurate also.

The Ruger GSR uses AICS mags which are pretty common in the bolt action world

Wow, I didn't know they started making them in 308, and taking PMAGs is awesome.  That may have moved to my short list.

I've seen both the varmint and predator at the gander mountain here a few times. They've had the scoped and w/out scope versions of each.
