I have 2 Mossberg 100 ATR's, really close to the 4X4's and one 4X4.
I have the original ATR non lightlning bolt trigger .270 win and it is a decent all around hunting rifle, It is plenty accurate and reliable enough for a "Field & Hunting" type rifle. I have had it since 2004 and the only problem was a broken extractor from closing the bolt on a round already chambered that Mossy customer service sent out a replacement on there dime. The second ATR is a 2009 lightning bolt adjustable trigger .243 win. The first three shots out of it were touching at 100yds! I have not been able to do that again since, but it groups about 1.5MOA or better if you do your part. They are both lightweight rifles with regular synthetic stocks with nice factory recoil pads.
I also have a 2008 25-06 4X4 with a regular style synthetic stock with large vents in the forend. It is a shooter, everyone that tries it out likes shooting it. I have no experience with the skeleton stock, but the action, barrel, and trigger are decent for a hunting type rifle.
