Saw some refurbed Mosin M38 Russian bolt action rifles (7.62 X 54) at a gun show today.

$115 out the door with sling, ammo pouch and cleaning kit.

Anyone have any experience with these?  I was thinking of going back tomorrow to pick one up.  Thanks.

I like mine.

They are VERY loud with a HUGE muzzle flash and they greatly anger the dorks who come to the range without hearing protection.

Entirely too much.

Check with Aztec Guns for really nice rifles for better prices. Also, unlike most of the Century imports you see, the Aztec import marks are discreet and elegant.

When I checked recently Aztec was out of the Mosin business.

Well, today I went back to the show and bought the rifle.  It is a 1944 "edition" with laminated stock.  I got it with the sling, tool kit and 3 ammo pouches.

I also got a Czech CZ-52 (7.62X25) pistol 1954 "edition" (NEW!) with 3 mags, new holster, cleaning rod and laynard.

I added in 2 60rd boxes of Chinese 7.62X25 and 3 20rd boxes of Czech silver tip 7.62X54.

Total out the door price with tax was $301.  I'm very pleased .

Decent price, but you could have made out better.

Do you have a C&R?

If not get one, you could have gotten Mosin for approx $60 and CZ52 for approx $100 with it.

No, I don't have a C&R.  What all is involved with getting one?  I don't buy guys often, would it be worth it?

You'll give me an M-16 or M249 at 17, but not a Mauser at 20...
