I was wondering if there is a BATF approval letter out there for the semi auto SAW. If there is how would I go about getting one? Is it public information?

Don't know if they have a copy of the letter on their website, but I believe OOW built a few. Pricey at around $8500.

I just dont think there would be enough market for FN to make a semi version of there belt feds.

If there was I sure someone would be doing it.

I dont think they would make much on an 8500 dollar semi but if that were down around 2 or 3k even I'd buy one tomorrow.

Look at the RPD. When they first came out people were grabbin' them up at like 4grand! Now that there down around the 1500 mark I had to get one. but I might spring for the extra coin for a 249

As for the semi letter. There is one. I think I saw it on 1919a4.com once.

Contact your local rep for the ATF. If he's a human being and not the typical programed test tube product that the others are he/she might be able to help you. Never know, its worth a shot!

BTW. The last minimi parts kit that I was looking at was about 4,500.00 if I remember right. Its not going to be cheap, but it would be damn cool!

IIRC the semi M249s were built by US Ordnance, the same company that makes the M60E4/Mk43 for the Navy.
