Here's an odd one I've had for a long while now. Remains of the M34 liner inside. https://i.imgur.com/puryJCX.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bv2XFNo.jpg View Quote |

No idea. But the price was right so I could not pass it up.
I read somewhere it could have been a "referee" for field training exercises. |

I love helmets and have been collecting them since I was a kid back in the ‘60s. The only photos I have handy are of Iraqi helmets that were brought back from Desert Storm in 1991. If there’s any interest I’ll post them here.

Neat thread!
I just went to the KAF Bazaar today, and talked with one of the vendors, who has a line on old Afghan national Army helmets an such from Kandahar City. He's got a German M1916 shell with no liner and some damage, and British "Brodie" with a thick coating of black paint, also no liner, and some old Russian pilots helmets stashed at his shop in the city. I'm trying to get him to bring some of that stuff next week. |

Allrighty then, here is my humble helmet hoard.
I bought them at gun shows with my dad, so back in the late 80s or early 90s. British? Looks too clean, possible repaint. Attached File Attached File USGI? Not sure what era. Attached File Attached File German? Profile looks right. Attached File Attached File Modern USGI Kevlar. Attached File Attached File I don't know shit about helmets. Just thought they looked cool when I was younger. Seem to be some helmet experts in here, so help is appreciated. |

Would be WWII era due to the lip and riveted strap loops. US WWII helmet and a nice one at that with the OD7 straps and nice corking finish. The liner is Vietnam era. As already stated a Spanish helmet which while not worth as much as a German shell is starting to become collectible on their own. Just find the emblem that goes on the front. The PASGT is nice as well. I love the cover with the V sewn to it. So much harder to find the early woodland covers with patches and such on them as it was very uncommon. |

Quoted: Will need pics of any markings to tell exactly what you have. The stahlhelm looking one is a Spanish Modelo Z, they're pretty poorly made and not valuable. I got pointed here by the other GD thread and figure I'd contribute my family heirloom.
Great uncle in WWII as a combat engineer, brought this back and gave it to my grandfather and later gave it to me in the 70s. I played in it a lot as young boy when we played war. If I had known what I had back then, I would have mothballed it earlier. My M40: Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

They are quite hard to find as most get converted to 1917, 1918 or 1933 spec. |
