Keep in mind they are going to be pretty hard to get too if you do it that way. Another option is attaching the HSP Magazine wedge in between and offsetting it a little bit upwards, giving you two extra mags. Also the "Stuff-it" pouch can hold two magazines. Works especially well with PMAGs as the webbing on the side locks in between the ribs on the PMAGs giving you pretty good retention

I went with the Esstac kydex wedge inserts and got rid of the pull tabs. This made all of the mags easier to manipulate and still provides excellent retention.

That is what I get for skimming.  I agree that it wouldn't be a good idea for the reasons you state.

However if it were me and I wanted to up the amount of rifle mags on this setup, I would add mag pouches to the cummerbund instead of layering under the D3 to help reduce so much bulk up front.

I agree with this poster. I would add them to the cumberbunds and reduce the bulk. I have the apc and d3 and I the main reason I went this route was to keep things fairly simple, light, and slim profile. Use the StuffIt if you need extra mags, mount them to the cumberbund, or maybe consider throwing a few on a belt if you run one. |
