I'm currently using Maxpedition Rollypolly, but was wondering if there are any other mag pouches that are similar that I haven't though of. Mainly used for range trips where I want to just grab a bag of mags and go. I use ammo cans for more long term, high capacity storage. What else is there besides the Rollypolly that would fit my needs? The only drawback to the Rollypolly is that I had to buy a strap to go on it so it was easier to grab/carry. Any other options? Thanks.

Any of you guys have that problem? |

What about something like a Jumbo versipack (maxpedition, 5.11, etc)?
Something with a large center pocket for mags, a pocket for an H2O bottle, another for eye pro, another for cleaning supplies etc. A nice, single bag with a strap and room for everything needed on a range trip. |

I use this. It will hold 6-9 AK or AR mags, water bolted side pockets, slash pocket for pistol or staple gun...etc
5.11 push pack |

The greatest tragedy is to have the experience and miss the meaning.

I was using G.I. mags. I suspect the two I received were stitched out of spec. |

I have old Alice belts with a half dozen 3-4 mag pouches with grenade loops. Think the mag pouches were $2 a piece and the belts were $5.

Black for AK mags and OD green for Ar Mags. They will hold 12 Pmags for sure. They are a great deal at 15 bucks. |

Go to the AFRCOM store and check out the Tactical Bail Out Bag. Clone of the 5.11 above, but $20 in the Black Friday sale.
Just scored a bunch. Good bag. EDIT: It was a good thought, but just went to the bag/cases banner on the front page and can't find them now....I must have wiped them out ![]() |

I use one of these for a grab and go range bag and I like it. Discretion isn't exactly its strong suit though, so if that is important to you something else may be in order.

Really good suggestions so far, thanks guys. I have a Midway range bag, but it's really better suited for pistol work, so the 5.11 stuff is looking pretty good.

Olongapo grab and go pouch? I have their Garand clip grab and go pouch, and it's good to go. Their AR pouch looks good. http://olongapooutfitters.com/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=9 I have an old Eagle Creek bag LIKE THIS ONE that I use for AR mags. It will hold 11 30-round mags in the main compartment and another two in the front zipper pocket. ETA ONE MORE. |

Though these were cool. Have bought the garand stuff and it is awesome and very well made. Hell, should have read, beat.

I have found this to be the greatest bandoleer available.

Midway had mag pouches for $9.99 on Black Friday.
Not sure how much there are now. Still $9.99 if you're interested. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/189814/midwayusa-4-magazine-pouch-ar-15-and-ak-47-rifle-nylon-olive-drab FWIW This pouch does indeed hold PMags as well as the IMI polymer mags. |

Do they work with Pmags? View Quote Yes, they will hold 2 thirty round AR15 pmags in each pocket, for a total of 12. |

I have a couple of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Galati-Gear-30-40-Round-Magazine/dp/B003VUZ3I0/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1386643263&sr=8-14&keywords=magazine+pouch 12 AR mags fit. USGI and Lancers fit very easily, PMAGS are snug and are easier if staggered up/down. Other mags with big baseplates like the new HK mags must be staggered and just barely fit. You could carry more and it'd be just as cost effective to get another range bag like this one that goes on sale as low as $14 (?) from time to time. Well built and cheap. Figure you could carry upwards of 20 mags in it, if not more. http://www.lapolicegear.com/tabaoutbag.html I'm mad at Midway at the moment but their "compact" range bag on sale at $30 is also very tough to beat, especially if you need to buy other stuff. |

Can't beat the plain military M249 Saw mag pouches that will hold 6 30 rd mags or 1 Saw drum. Google M249 Magazine pouches for several versions. Here's one site:http://www.specopsbrand.com/saw-m249-pouch.html

I too use the USGI bandolier. Holds 6 USGI just fine. I've got one in every car.

Your title is somewhat deceiving. I think of Grab-n-go as a SHTF concept, not an impromtu range trip. I don't really have impromptu range trips I guess.
For SHTF grab-n-go, I use USGI bandoleers, ammo cans, assault packs, and aviator's kit bags |
