I have been debating changing out a 308 AR flash hider and have been looking at going a different path. I have never really cared for the looks of the modern vortex styles or the others that are out there.

I have always liked the looks of the 1950's long style ones, like the FAL and the M-14. I know that the threads on these can't fit to an AR (5/8X24). So that leads me to my question.

Does anyone know the thread type of a M-60 flash hider? Anyone have any experience with this type of hider on a gun that is not an M-60?

It's 5/8x24. I've used them on an AR before, using a PRI thread adapter.

If I had access to a lathe I have thought of some interesting modifications...

I've seen them pretty often on both gunbroker and strum. There is an M60 guy out of OH, JR something.
