you can...and they are REALLY damn expensive.
the scope i do believe is a Leupold Mk4 M1 or M3 fixed 10x with mil-dot reticle. |

Mine is a "real" M24 SWS,its caliber is just 7.62 NATO, U.S.Army did not get it in 300WM .

It's a long action right? The US Army specified that they wanted their M-24s with the long action if they decided to upgrade to the 300 WinMag Later. NICE RIFLE!!!!! I'm Jealous. Greg |

Mine was built by Armament Technologies. Pretty nice guns, but pretty damn expensive. I bought more because of what it was, and not because it was terribly accurate. Don't get me wrong though, it is terribly accurate. I wouldn't want to be down range of it.
BTW, Pinco, mine came with MKIV rings and bases and a M3 Ultra scope. I can't tell if your scope is the Ultra, but it doesn't look like MKIV rings. Do you know who made them? Also, my backup sights are Redfield Palma and International for the front, what did you get? |

There were 100 genuine M24s built for a government agency about 5 years ago, then never accepted. Remington sold them. We use one as a test rifle to verify ammunition.
They're damned rare, and normally in the hands of serious sniper rifle collectors. There are a LOT of rifles out there that have been remarked and pawned off as M24s. The genuine M24s sold by Remington are marked M24, but are NOT marked US. If you see a rifle with the US, it's a phony. That's fine (you can get a great custom gun) if you're told of it. Unfortunately, too many sellers are a bit, how shall we say... vague about their rifles heritage. |

I guess Armament Technologies didn't have the M24 contract before Remington.... I guess that Mike Rock didn't make 5R barrels, let alone Obermeyer. I guess I don't know my rifle.... |

I've got to give a second on George Gardner. I've got a buddy that has one of his rifles, and it is the most accurate thing I have ever seen; if I had not been at the range with him I would have called him a liar.
