I have an early Colt A2 govt carbine,,, had a bayonet, from earlier,, it wouldn't fit, not long enough.. bought another cheap one at a gunshow, cut it off and welded in a spacer right behind the muzzle end of the grip panels,, it fits nicely,,, was there ever an issue bayonet made for CAR's or the civilian version?? with 16"bbls??

Thanks doggie,,,does anyone think there would be a market for these???? it does look unique when attached,, I guess just because I've never seen one attached to a carbine.

The bayonet only fits the 14.5" barrel. Of course it will fit the 11.5" with the 5" suppressor and the standard 20"(duh)but not the 16" with the standard flash suppressor.

The US Armed Forces never issued an M16/M4/Car-15 carbine with a barrel longer than 14.5"
I would think that given post ban rifles can not have a bayo lug a bayo specifically to fit a preban 16" carbine would'nt have much demand.
However, there are some guys (Kurt's Kustom Firearms is one) that make an adapter that clamps over the 16" barrel behind the FH so you
could attach an issue bayonet.
