Over on the smith-wessonforum they are talking about it. That is a great resource for the 15-22

Also interested in something more user-friendly with a latch.

Works just like factory, I had my local guy anodize it and I put grooves on the latch. Now as far as getting one.....I accept bribes, guns and girl friends

Or if you don't have mad machining skills you might try to cut a standard and weld back shorter. File and/or dremel grind back to shape. Just a thought!

Which one do you want –– I'm certainly interested!

Well that really depends now on the condition of items, lol. I can see what I can do about making a few of them but it wont be cheap so that's usually a killer for most people, but it sure beats plastic. This is the finished product, grooves and anodizing.

How much do you think it may be ? You could sell the design to a company...Just a thought.

What would you pay ??? I was thinking 25.00 to 35.00

Okay, it's cool and custom, I'll give you that. And its pretty bad-ass that it's a one off part.

But my question is this. What advantage does it offer in your opinion, if any? I do the traditional "bunny ears" style of charging when I use my 15-22. I have never had / felt the need to do the palm style. I could understand that you would need a stronger handle if you do the palm style often.

I'm not trying to take anything away from you, I'm just trying to figure out if there is a function benefit to the part, or if it is all "bragging rights" so-to-speak

Bragging rights mostly I guess. Plastic just tends to become brittle and break, and plastic is weak. When your charging handle snaps, your weapon is useless. Im not trying to sell this as a must need...but I know ya want one.

That aluminum charging handle is very nice, But I would be concerned about the aluminum wearing out the plastic that it's surrounded by.

I'd rather replace a cheap charge handle, then to have to replace the entire upper reciever.

If you're in this range, you have a deal –– let me know when can be done.

I was thinking that as well. If you do the one sided palm charge, I could see it wearing the upper. If you still use the bunny ears method (as I do), then there shouldn't be excesive wear on the upper, at least I wouldn't think so.
