Anybody ever try one of these stocks?
What are your opinions?

If you're refering to their fiberglass stocks, they're very hard to finish and paint. The fiberglass is very dry and stringy.

You would be better off with a Bell&Carlson.I don't know the price on the MPI but,B&C stock is $198.00 retail.Dealer price on B&C is better than MPI too I beleive.

Any pics as to what these things look like? I've been looking to put black synth. on my M1 and my 03A3, simply because I'm rough on wood stocks. I got a Ramline synthetic for my M1, but the butt end is VERY light, and I hate it.

Raf, thought about that. Another problem with the Ramline stock, is that it's very narrow at the butt end and the "pistol grip". It just doesn't have that thick, solid feel of the wood stock. Aren't M1As thicker back towards the back? Maybe I should get an M1A synth stock, and just trim it back to fit my M1?

I'd still like pics and links for these other stocks that were mentioned. 43E1P? Shephard? Y'all out there?

O.K. I found it.Website must have been down.

You must download the catalog at 199mb.You must also have Acrobat 5.0 to read it.I did but there's no photo or mention of M1 Garand stocks.

I did find a photo on Brownells website but it's small. Here's the info

Go to brownells.com
In the upper left corner you'll see "SEARCH PRODUCT.Type in M1 Garand stock and click on "GO".

You'll see 3 stocks for the M1 Garand.
Bell and Carlson,DPMS,and someone elses I can't remember.

The retail price for B&C is now $200.25 I think my price is $150.00 but need to check. You get both handgaurds as well for a complete set.

DPMS sells a synthetic stock set for the M1. Go to their site and do a search for "M1 Garand". The set is $69.00.

I beleive the DPMS stock is plastic type material.

MPI and B&C is fiberglass. If you don't plan to bed it then the DPMS would be a lower cost alternative.Just my 2c
