Hello Guys. I've been reading recently about how the M4 type bbls tend to get quite hot after a session of sustained fire. I'm interested in learning approximately how many rounds will it take for a 16" M4 bbl to become overheated during rapid semi-automatic fire. (By overheated, I mean at which point the bbl heat may begin to induce cook-offs and or malfunctions.)How much better, if any, will the Colt 16" HBAR stand up to this type of fire, as opposed to the M4 style bbl. THANKS Guys. Regards, Dom Pastore

Dom,
you might do better posting this topic under "M16-Full Auto."

(Down the Forums page under "Applications.")

I heard once that barrel temp is elevated 15 degrees F per shot. Don't know if that's correct but thought I'd throw it at ya. The guy that told me this is a reputable maker of sound suppressors.
