Gentlemen,
In the early part of 1939 Springfield Armory was having a major problem setting up a second production line at SA for the M1 Garand Rifle. What was the main problem for getting this second line into production ?
Fact:
As of Feb. 6, 1939 SA Had shipped 7912 M1 Garand Rifles to stores

Thanks again

Gentlemen,
Ordnance at SA could not get tooling and machines needed to build the new production line. Ordnance states the time frame was 6,7,8 months before getting the new production line up and running. Remember, this was early in 1939.

Thanks again
Clancy
