If it is a M2 and was stamped as such that is the end of the story.  Once a machine gun always a machine gun is the BATFE's philosophy.  If at any point it was a full auto, it cannot be restored to a non NFA rifle as far as I know.

The gun is not actually stamped M2 carbine. Serial #'s and markings were ground off of it. Man this sucks. Why can't the atf understand that this isnt a machinegune.

I sent ya an e-mail regarding this post, did ya not get it?

FWIW, ground off serial numbers are a BIG time no-no (despite whether rifle is select-fire or not) and as noted in my e-mail you are on a public forum discussing illegal weaponry, not a good idea.....
