I found some nice nylon pouches at 2 places:
1. Charley's Surplus Sales 580-436-5540 (no web site); M14 mag pouch, nylon, internal divider, ALICE clips, $12.95 ea 2. Sierra Supply. http://www.sierra-supply.com/ (look under firearms accessories - M14). Excerpt from web site: "M-14 Dual OD Nylon Magazine Carrier - will carry two M-14 or FN FAL 20 round magazines. The carrier has an internal divider to prevent magazines from rubbing together. Issued to Special Forces, Rare- 1 for $13.00" These are very similar to the old canvas pouches with the strap that clipped to the LBE. ALICE clips. Both types are very good, but I like the Sierra ones better. |

Look for the Canadian C1 (FAL) pouches. I prefer them to GI issue.

30-rd USGI M-16 pouches work OK, provided you cut the dividers.
Get an old GI closed cell foam sleeping pad, and cut out two pieces to fit in the bottom of the pouch. Make sure you punch drain holes in 'em; a .45 ACP case will do. That stops the rattle, and protects the mouths of the mags when they are properly stored open end down. |
