Contact the folks at http://www.sportables.com/shop/index.html

its not listed on their website anymore, but I got one from them not long ago. Factory made, brand new, $45.00 (I think, maybe 49.00) plus shipping.

Do you think it would be more cost effective to buy a complete gun, and scrap the parts you don't want, or start with the stripped reciever?

For someone wanting to build up a custom 10/22 who has no box full of misc parts already, it'd probably be better to just get a new one. They're only $160 or so at WalMart.

I know where to get them for 119 if this helps

If I had been asked this 4 weeks ago I could have hooked you up with 2 of them. I build the damn things all the time and just pick up used 10/22's for $50-60 bucks when ever I find them. Check out flea markets. People are always selling them.
