Hello All,
I've been looking for awhile at getting either a case or backpack that I can use to carry around my guns to the range and such. My main concern is that the case looks discreet, civilian, and won't attract attention.  I've heard people suggest guitar cases or tennis bags but to be honest, I don't know much about them so I'd hate for a conversation to get sparked and me be unable to hold my own in it.  Aside from the discreet aspect of it, I need it to be able to fit a 26" rifle.  So far the only real option I have found is the Eberlestock S34 Secret Weapon.  Does anyone have any suggestions on other options?  Thanks.

I hate to ask this, but is it an AR15?  I'm assuming the 26 inch is OAL.

When I travel I use this....  http://www.quarterbore.com/ar15m16/toolbox.html

I think Tactical Tailor makes a pretty plain rectangular padded case in a few color patterns.

You mentioned 26" - do you want this for an SBR?  If so, a gym bag might be a better option.  An AR with a 16" barrel is about 32" long with the stock collapsed.

I heard a tennis racket bag will work.

I use this for my AK sbr, it's nice and discreet and built from the get go to carry a rifle with accessories.

In this pic it contains the AK SBR, 4 30 rounders (one inserted in the rifle), and a 75 round drum.

Lacrosse and field hockey bags are similar, but should allow you to keep a non-SBR in one piece - no need to take it down.

I have several bags similar to the one below and they will hold several lacrosse sticks (up to ~42" long) in the side pocket - more than enough room for a non-sbr AR or other rifle.  The main portion of the bag is also large enough to hold plenty of other stuff.

There are also backpack versions that can hold the same.  Usually available in multiple colors from mild to wild.

I can attest to the quality of the bag shown.  It's held up through 4 years of high school and 4 years of college lacrosse just fine.  It's built like a tank.  If you do use it to hold mags/ammo/other accessories you would need to set up an internal divider since there is only a small pocket on the inside.

My SBR:

ETA: I think the tennis racket bag was around $25.  It's not fancy, it doesn't scream "I'm a tennis freak".  Many people will dabble in a little tennis from time to time, so people won't be asking too many questions.

Same here. Love that bag - hasn't seen much action lately.

Dominican-made Eagle discreet bags here for $49.95.  They ship via UPS, so shipping will run around $17, and in the current environment, it'll be around 2-3 weeks before they ship.  I have one in khaki and one in OD green, and I like them very much.  Eagle's khaki is MJK, which has a greenish tint to it.  It's one of my favorite colors, but a lot of folks don't like it.

These bags get my SBR and carbine to and from the range, and here in the DC metro area nobody really notices them.  Even if they did, I wouldn't care.  Besides, my fat a$$ walking around with a tennis racket bag, nobody would believe I had rackets in it.
