Not as bad as SCAR scalping, yet.  I'm glad I already put down a deposit on 1 of the 3 my dealer says he's getting with a sale price of $2,295.

I don't think the AUG will be nearly as badly gouged as the SCAR.  I don't think people will pay too much more than MSAR prices just for teh Steyr name, especially not with the versatility and evolution of the STG.

Well it's the guy trying to make a "dealer profit" on top of an MSRP.

I'm guessing that the dealers are picking up Steyr AUG A3's for about $1,800 and selling them at an MSRP of $2,300. So I'm not shocked to see folks turning around and selling them for another $700 more.

The guy is probably thinking he'll sell that rifle at $3,000 and pick up one later and still walk away with a profit.

The guy doesn't even have the rifle in his hands! Maybe I'm behind the times but why would you run an auction for something you dont have? The rifle is "on order", "on it's way", "in the wings" , whatever. I just dont think that is right to allow customers to have a bidding war over a product the seller has not even seen.

Like every other Steyr dealer waiting on an AUG, this dealer learned that every dealer will be getting one rifle in the initial shipment and they will begin shipping in 3 weeks.

At least, he started the bidding at $2400 with no reserve for whatever that's worth.

Guy is pretty brave if you ask me

At least with the Scars they were known to be shipping. I would hate to be that dealer if something goes wrong and Steyr is not able to deliver on time or at all
