When will all the job layoffs start a gun selling frenzy ???

Pawn shops and gun stores in Las Vegas are already seeing a huge influx of used gun sales. I.e. A man who purchased 17 guns over the past 10 years sold them all at one time to cover his monthly expenses. The gun section of our local paper is now several colums long. It's a buyers market..

doesn't make sense as you can get food with guns.
or even cash if you want to go down that road

It'll be good shopping, especially when combined with the panic buying since the election.  A lot of first time EBR buyers are gonna decide they didn't need them so bad and unload them cheap.

well see. I am not so sure the weather is so nice down the road. I really hope a lot of people sell off their guns and ammo, but they may not. and even if they do, will prices come down?

Problem is, the first ones they sell are the crappy ones.

And they are not going to like it when you tell them the rifle they paid 1500.00 for is only worth half that.

I dont see the panic selling in my area at all and I work at one of the biggest gun shops in the area. Sure we have had a few guys come in and sell some stuff for cheap, but not like i thought they would. Most people are hanging onto their guns for the last resort.

We are in an Economic buble here in ND.  The rest of the US ecomony has not affected us.  They are building and selling houses like crazy, no one is getting laid off..yet.  So I don't expect to see anything for sale up here.

We have a gun show this weekend and I think I will be bringing one of my K31s to see if I can get a good offer for it.
Don't worry, the proceeds will go to fund other gun purchases.

In 4 or 5 months from now it ought to be real plentiful for those of us with steady money coming in. The pawn shops will be sitting on too much , as well as the gun shops.

I'm not one to complain about finding good deals on nice firearms.  But I would prefer it didn't have to come about as a result of a somebody losing his job.

I don't believe we've reached the tipping point in this economy yet where folks are going to be selling back those panic purchased firearms. Most likely we'll have to wait months for that to happen.

Something to keep an eye that's for certain. While making sure you don't overextend yourself in the process.

Once people realize that they need to sell either the HDTV or AR to pay for bills, many a black rifle will be sold.

I was laid off last year.  I have added several guns to my collection since then.  I just do any odd jobs I come across to pay a few bills and I put a few bucks away for my gun fund.

It's too bad the good deals we're about to embark on is at the expense of our fellow gun owners losing their jobs..

I don't look for a selling "frenzy".

The reason people bought, and are buying, is because of what they think BO might do (read ban). Well, he's not going anywhere any time soon so I don't think people are going to get complacent in the near future.

As long as people are concerned wih the prospect of a ban the demand for high cap. semi-auto firearms will be high. Thus people that need to sell their firearms will probably get a pretty good price.

I look for some good deals soon but not too many and nothing nearing the "frenzy" point.

There is more for sale in my neck of the woods, but they aren't cheap by anyone's standards.  I think the whole buying frenzy has given people hopes that the guns they have to sell are worth their weight in gold...

I suspect that if a REGISTRATION Bill gets passed, that will put as many if not more onto the market as the economy does, (hand guns & semi-auto mag fed long guns).

I just don't really see that happening to any huge degree.

Hard to say for sure how good the used market might be in the future, but I bet a bunch of the Obama guns will not hit the used market as expected. Some of the guns will for sure, they always do.

I would be inclined to think and hope the gun market will level off somewhat, and maybe even decline in prices a bit closer to normal in a couple years. Thats barring anything silly such as a full blown ban!

Thats just me hoping though!

I would hope that if a formal "Registration" bill passes, we will all realize that it is time to act......confiscation is NEVER far behind.  If you register, you are telling them where to come get them and signing your own death warrant (in many historical cases).

I'm not willing to chance it.  Registration is my "line in the sand".....if the government crosses it, they have made the decision to become tyrannical and are planning the best way to make us all slaves.

Sean
