The question was raised on this forum and others concerning the compatibility of the Knoxx SpecOps Stock and the GG&G Sling Mount that fits between the stock and the receiver.

We finally got the slling mount and were able to test it. On our shotgun, the extra length of the adapter reduced the amount of bolt threads that were inside the receiver mounting nut to about three threads or slightly less. That is on the very minimal edge of acceptability. Due to the variations between receivers and stocks, you will need to test very carefully if you choose to install this device.

Officially, we can not recommend using the GG&G Sling Mount with the SpecOps Stock.

Sorry, I had hoped that the results would be otherwise.

Can you offer a longer bolt?  Even with extra cost?

I am ready to get a Spec-Ops stock and I'd like the GG&G as well.

I'd also like a rail while we're at it.

Any chance you could give us the length and size of the stock bolt, along with the cut it was threaded on? Im sure many of us could find a sutible replacement at a local bolt house. I would think that an extra 1/8-1/4th in would be enough length to make up for the mount.

It all sounds so simple, but there are engineering issues to be considered, or so they tell me. The bolt length affects the torque and potentially, a longer bolt could cause additional installation problems. If something changes, you will hear about it here first.

I was one of the guys that was originally wanting to use the GG&G mount plate with the stock, but when I eyed it up before attempting installation, something just told me that it might not work.  I decided on the spot to go with a three-point sling option instead...

BTW Larry, I still need to send you my shotgun, but am still looking for a cheap gun case to send it in like you suggested...  A simple task that is harder than you might think in Hawaii.  What kind of state causes Wal-Mart not to carry any gun accessories or ammo?
