Today, at my NG armory, we were cleaning weapons for an upcoming inspection.  I have a habit of checking manufactures, as many of our rifles have lowers rebuilt from A-1's.  Have seen a lot of rebuilt Colts, a few H&R's. Today, the one I was cleaning caught my eye. Above the trigger guard, on the left side, it was stamped "Balimoy Mfg Co,  Venice, Fla."
On the mag well, where the trademark is usually stampe, above all the "US" stuff was simply stamped "2U899." Anyone know anything about this outfit?

I'm pretty sure they now make parts for the 105 among other things. Don't know about their history w/ small arms.

OK, checked the website, know that they contract for the Gov't for "big guns" and subcontracted for GM on many gov't weapons projects.  Interested to know if any of you M-16 historians know when they did m-16a1's.  BTW, the rifle in question has been retired and sent in to whatever inglorious fate awaits old warhorses.
