The sides being secured only by buckles kind of makes me uneasy, I guess I'm just used to the cummerbund being secured via hook and pile.

Looks OK, but there are SEVERAL other carriers I would take over it.
I agree with above about the side plate attachment. Just does not seem like it would move or support as well as a true cummerbund. Looks like they tried to mix parts of different carriers, and not all the good parts. |

I had a lot of the same thoughts. When i heard from our captain that the IOTV was being phased out and this is one of the replacements it got me a little concerned. The only pros i see is that its lighter (not by much) and from what i see it may have a little bit more real estate for gear.

Why would the higher ups not just move a PROVEN system like the CIRAS or the RAV. There are way too may people trying to reinvent the wheel and dragging the system down in the process.
