Like many people on here, I just wanted to add some accessories to my PTR91 special edition rifle.  Did I need a new housing? No, but it just bothered me that I had 2 pins holding the back end of the PTR but the trigger housing only used 1 hole.   So I decided to upgrade.  Looking around the various websites that sold navy housings the best deal I could find was sportsmans guide's HK navy housing for $30 plus $8.50 shipping and handling.  Add to that another $30-$50 to have that housing clipped and pinned.  I was on the verge of ordering one and trying to figure out who to send it to when I found this one on Ebay.  Link is http://cgi.ebay.com/Clipped-Pinned-Grip-HK-H-K-SEF-BRAND-NEW-PTR-91-93-/140572469192?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20bac5a7c8#ht_3139wt_1139

Hell, I thought even if I do this myself I would only save $20 but have to spend at least an hour milling down the ears and filling down the opening for a better fit.  So I decided to take the risk and order me this one.  Well I placed my order on Friday evening and it got here today in one of those USPS shipping boxes.  First off the thing looked just like the one in the pic.  The ears were filed down, opening enlarged slightly and pins glued in.  Mill work was pretty good with the right ear looking just like the picture.  The left ear was also milled but not quite as good as only part of the metal reinforcement was showing.  The pin ends were solidly expoxied(sp) in with no shiny glue showing either on the outside or inside of the housing.  All the date/manufacturing markings were there like shown in the pictures.  My only gripe is that the pin looks like it goes from right to left and I prefer my pins going left to right.

Changing out the trigger pack was simple and I got the full range of motion on the selector.  Lock up was tight when I replaced the trigger housing in the rifle.  I even had to give it a little tap to seat it before putting on the back end.  Pins went in and it seemed to me that the rifle felt more solid.

Going from a 1 hole trigger housing to a 2 hold trigger housing probably didn't do a thing, but to me it just makes the gun feel even more solid.  It is kinda cool to have a full range of motion in the selector switch and it makes the rifle look a little better to me.

Next thing coming is a UTG tri rail for the PTR.   Figured I would only save about 4 oz on just adding a lower rail to the slim handguard or add 2 oz if I got a thick handguard and added a rail to it.  Found a place that sells the old tapco tri rail handguard for $55 but I couldn't find any reviews on it.  Besides the UTG seems to be more solid vs the tapco one pin.  I'll review that one too when it gets here later this week or early next week.

Cragius,

First off, that's an excellent price for an already clipped and pinned German G3 type SEF housing. Boy, I remember the good old days 10-12 years ago when I offered this service.  The housings were running $100+ back then and I charged $40 to clip and pin.

For what it's worth, the pins going left to right are actually done that way tactically on purpose.  It's meant so the operator doesn't confuse the push-pin with mag release on the right side.... now, it's your lower and your weapon so you can definitely do what you want by all means... The pin is merely cosmetic so you can easily tap the ends out, swap and reglue them around if you'd like. Any clear expoxy will work well.

Good luck and I think you did very well on your purchase

This is the selector I would need on a Greek SAR-8?

Thanks for the ebay link and thanks cragius for your informative post.
