Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Is this Yugo 8mm?

I just bought some of this ammo at the gunshow and for peace of mind just want a second opinion that this is indeed Yugo 8mm.  It came in 15 rd boxes and on the box is marked 7,9 mm METAK and the side of the box has an 8 encircled.  The brass has two upside down u's followed by a Y and dated 1978.  Thanks for any help.

Yep, 8X57.  It is corrosive but good ammo.  Mine has a greenish dust on it but it shoots just fine.

The real dimensions are something like 7.92x57.  But to make life easier, they just call it 8mm.
