I'm not old enough to remember the days of the "Blue Sky" import rifles. We all know that the CMP will run out of rifles some day. If some M1 garands were to be imported (not returned to the army, regular import) where would they show up? I'm guessing the usual surplus dealers would get them? I ask because I have "heard on the internet" that there are possibly some rifles left in central or south america. I don't know how much truth there is to any of that, and take it with a grain of salt, but you never know. Internet rumors have also said the Koreans still have some (I think?). What is everyones thoughts on these? Will we see Garands imported after the CMP is out?

The Koreans have a LOT of Garands left.. but they want an arm and a leg for them.. the CMP turned them down and no importer has shown any interest as the final price (what we would pay) wold be too high for the quality of the Garands the Koreans have......As for the S American Garands.. The CMP has them and they are junk.. they were broken down for parts for repairs and the receivers went into the sales bins..... Iran ahs a LOT of Garands but they were sold the them and I don't expect the Iranian gov't to want to sell them to 'The Grat Satan' any time soon.... Vietnam has a bunch of Garands and Carbine but by now they are rusted junk.....
