Has anyone ever heard of "The Sight" training facility in Mt. Carroll (western) Illinois? I've got a chance to attend a defensive shooting program there and I'm just looking to get a little background info.

While I personally cannot say anything about the place, I've heard that the training is excellent. Do a search at www.tacticalforums.com I think someone did a small write-up over there on one of their classes. Check the training forum.

I've been to 5 of their classes one pistol, two carbine and two precision rifle. I have nothing but high praise for the school, staff and instructors.

The training director Hersal Davis is a riot to be around the old master chief has been there, done that and has blood ON the T-shirt.

The school has a very easy to follow course outlines and the classes move along w/ very little down time.

I enjoyed learning the proper way to manipulate your firearm. You will do quite a few repetition of basic skill to make them second nature to you by course end.

The instructors are very professional. These people know the topics and how to present them in a clear manner.

I highly recommend this school. If you spend good money to by a carbine, pistol or precision rifle and are seriously into learning to properly use them you may want to look into "The SITE".

If Hershel Davis is there, then you are in for a treat. Had the opportunity to be around the guy for dinner and he's riot.

Oh, he carried a 1911 with the grim reaper on the grips.

Thanks for the feedback. I am really looking forward to attending this class. The best thing about it is somebody else is paying for it.

Also, I'm thrilled to know there is a top quality training facility just a few hours away from me. If this defensive pistol class goes well, I plan to look into additional pistol and rifle training.

Prof. Evil

Grim reapper on the grips? That I can see. If you visit "The SITE" you can't miss the life size metal Grim Reaper in the Pro shop. It comes complete with cowl, sickle and the sentence "You will be MINE".
