I'm leaning toward the 762-SD from AAC, but would like to hear about other decent options.

One question I have is whether any could take a 300 WM out of a 26 inch barrel?

The AWC Thundertrap is rated for 300WM.

The YHM Phantom 762 is rated for up to .300 RUM if I remember correctly...I'll have to find the email.

Thanks for the input, I've looked over both!  The AWC site doesn't offer much info...

Anyway, I have only read good things about them.

What guns?

I'd like it to be able to go on any of my 7.62 rifles.  The most abusive would be either the G3 (or FR8) with the stock 17 inch barrel, or a Rem 700 in .300 WM (26 inch barrel).

My only .30 cal can is a YHM 7.62.  It's quiet, and I like the QD.

I like the two YHM Phantom QD's that I have, but it's overall a little heavier than some of the competition.  The Phantoms are quiet and shift POI very little.  YHM stated is would handle 300 mags just fine.

The guys at YHM handled warranty service on one of my two 308 cans with quickness and courtesy.

I also have a Surefire 762K pending at the NFA, but have not seen it or shot it yet.

Last but not least, I've heard the AAC 762SD and it's a damn good suppressor.  I just don't know if it's that much better than the YHM.

Here is a good post about the versatility of the YHM system:

Since nobody has linked SAS, I'll do it.

His quality is very good and customer service even better.  Given your needs with different hosts and thread pitches, Tim will do what it takes to customize mounts for you...might be worth a phone call.  He loves to talk cans.

Tim makes suppressors for L.E.O.'s around here. I have one of his 7.62's It's very effective. He made custom mounts for my AK's.

Get the lightest one you can. The SD is pretty light.

QD or thread on?

SWR's Omega and AWC's Thundertrap are both pretty kickass cans.  I haven't heard a SAS, but heard lotsa good things.  And of course AAC has some great rifle cans.

I'm seriously considering SRT's Shadow XL for a rifle build I'm planning.  But I know a guy with a John's Guns thread on .308 can that I'd really like to hear before I buy anything, because from what I'm told it's pretty sweet.

Get both!

QD as I want it to go on multiples with different patterns.

I just paid for a "Premium membership" over at Silencer Research, so let me go check their recommendations.

Hmmm, "NO REVIEWS AVAILABLE YET".

Hey, wait a ding dang minute.  I get the exact same message when I click the .223/5.56 review button as well as the .338/50BMG section and there is exactly 1 comparison review in the .40/45ACP section.

So I have to ask myself what I paid $30 for?

You paid $30 so you complain maybe?  Sorry, I had to say it.  I seem to have done the same thing before.  I'm rarely happy with what I pay for anymore.

How about now?  I thought he recently said he had a bunch to add...

He is going to be adding a lot of centerfire rifle results in the near future.  I think he said Oct 25 there is a big shoot / testing session taking place.
