I ordered a Russian M44 carbine from CAI and it came about a week later. It is in great shape...

Congrats on the M44. Have you had a chance to shoot it yet?

Well,

Hold on when you pull the trigger! Those little rifles have some recoil. Fun to shoot though. LOUD!

Sorry for the late response, no I have not been ableto shoot it yet, but I looks great sitting in the safe..

They have a little kick to them. Not as bad as a Mannlicher-Berthier carbine though!

I like my M44, wasn't C&R but has matching numbers and is in great shape
I'm still getting used to rifles with a bit of recoil, so to me it kicks like a mule

Oh yeah, an M44. Be sure to try a night fire sometime. The kick, muzzle blast and of course the huge flame out the front end is something else.
I think the M44s are one of the best first gun for a new C&R, if you ever get the urge to "improve" on a gun the M44s are not so rare or expensive to make it really hurt later on.
