I was a good boy this year so Santa (me) bought a Garand and an Enfield. Can anyone send me your pet loads? I have been reloading for years and know the is and outs of all the safety stuff but was looking for what has worked well for others
Thanks

The M1 is easy to load for.  Find bullets in 150-170gr weights (not heavier or lighter), and start testing using IMR 4895 at about 47gr.  A 150gr pill with 47gr 4895 under it very much approximate M2 Ball ammo.

I use Korean brass and Nosler 155gr HPBT match bullets over around 46gr 4895.  Works quite well.

Check any Garand forum. Garand loads are pretty much carved in stone because of the gas system / op rod operation. They're proven to work and won't blow up or wreck your rifle.

As to the Enfield, which one? P14, 1917, or SMLE?

check 303british.com for some good .303 loads.

I have good luck with 150gr. spire point Hornady's, with 39gr. of Reloader 15 and CCI LR primers. Very accurate, not super-hot load.

I also have good luck with 174gr. match kings in front of 43.5gr. of RE15.

YMMV.
