I read today that plated bullets should be loaded with lead data.  Well for years I've used jacketed data so I went to my books and none of them have lead data for .40, only jacketed.  I almost always use 135gr plated with 10.3gr of #7.  Anyone have a better recipe?  Ive been looking for a very light recoil load as well.

Thanks!
Shane

Cut jacket data by 10%.

I have been loading 6.2g of Power pistol for a 180g Rainier plated HP.

This load certainly has more felt recoil than Federal red box 180.

I have been using 6.6gr of Power Pistol under a 165 gr Berry's and it seems like a descent load..

Berry's 180-grain plated bullet over 3.5 gr of TiteGroup for light steel loads (~126 pf) and over 4.2 gr of TiteGroup for major in an STI Tactical 5.0 pistol.

Does that load have a light recoil?  I'm looking for a competition load.

Forgot to originally mention, I shoot a Glock 23 and 35 with these loads.

The steel load does have light recoil. Forgot to mention that I load to 1.130" OAL.

155 gr plated with 4.2 grains of Titegroup.  Low recoil and functions for me 100%.

I've been loading 140 grain lead over 8.6 of blue dot.

Wouldn't cycle my Glock 20 with a .40 conversion with the stock recoil spring but runs like a champ now that I lightened it.
