I wish more of you guys could move down here and vote! But don't feel too sorry for us.
We are fighting, so don't think we're just sitting on our hands. Several county DA's have joined in a lawsuit against the Caliban's Osama Bin Lockyer, our District Attourney, over the assault rifle ban. The Cal Rifle and Pistol Association is very active in our courts. Our latest lawsuit against San Francisco's AW ban has already been filed (their DA actually held a news conference and dared us to file suit!). They've been very successful in defeating city bans on saturday night specials but stopping and reversing state-wide bans are more difficult. |

Instead of feeling bad and getting pissed about California liberal laws spilling over into your state. How about you out-of-state guys get off your duffs and visting CA with your AR? The guys that organize SECRET can organize a shooting match out in the desert for all of you. Nothing like all those out-of-staters legally visiting for a shooting match with their ARs.

The problem is that your domestic, local socialists look way over towards California, see what our State Reds are doing, and *copy* it. Don't like the way Red California operates? Then don't copy us. If I'm going to show up to Ca. for a shoot, It better be in Downtown LA. Talk to the local boys(USPSA) and see if they can add a Full Auto Kill House and A long range sniper program(50bmg) to the shoot. That way when we show up for the "Match", we can bring all the toys. |

California is full of irony. One of it's biggest industries, motion pictures, is responsible for influencing the public into believing that guns are nothing but wicked. At the same time their large population and the subsequent votes they have allows them to force the rest of us to live like liberals. NY is just as bad, the only difference is that they use the news media instead of movies to influence the public.
Come to think of it what really needs to happen is for citizens to start paying attention and quit believing everything that comes across a screen. |

I don't think it's the motion picture industry so much as the liberal politicians and activists. There are more closet gun owners in Hollywood than you would imagine. Hell, with movies like Matrix, Terminator, Tremors, and literally thousands more, SOMEBODY behind the scenes thinks guns are cool. Actually, Hollywood is fed up with California too and that's why they've taken to filming in Canada, Florida, and elsewhere. The gov just announced a big $$$ plan to lure them back. Stembridge Gun Rentals closed their doors due to California's gun policies.
OTOH, the news media here are as left wing as they are everywhere else in the country, and the sheep are just as gullible. |

Hey, if you don't like our laws, move to another country. Because sooner or later they will catch up with you. CA used to be a very conservative PRO gun state until other states started driving all their liberals away. Now they have congregated here as a majority and they are getting THEIR payback against you. Where was the rest of the friggin country when CA passed it's first AW law back in 89, essentially banned MGs in 68, instituted it's 10 day waiting period. You all ignored the writing on the wall then and left the gun owning (minority) hanging out to dry. |

It was 70 degrees and sunny, a beautiful day here in SoCal, and I took my AR-15 and my CCW pistol out shooting. Sure glad it's not cold, rainy, or snowing like all your other states!
I have to agree California has lots of problems and I think alot of the people who live in the larger cities have been effectively brainwashed by the media and politicians to be fearful of crime. Fear of weapons is a polite way of transferring mistrust of people in general to something that liberals can totally agree on. |

Pthfndr, I repect your opinion, however I don't agree with you on leaving this country because I don't like our laws. Am I to believe that you like ALL of our laws. Or do you live in another country now. I am a believer in trying to change the laws into something I agree with. Of course that would take a collective effort. Maybe I am a dreamer.
I Missouri we lost the CCW because of St. Louis City and Kansas city's vote. Am I going to leave this country? NO. I don't know the true numbers, but I would guess that LA, and some other big Cal cities has more people from other countries than from other states. Enjoy what freedoms we have now, because if we don't fight for them we will certainly loose them. Just my $.02 |

Normally, being from the South, I would say there ain't much future in trying to leave the Union. But in this case, let's let 'em go..... Kalifonistan is screwed, permanently.
The state is full of *illegal* immigrants, many of them criminals, and far too many of them receiving government benefits (i.e., money extorted from working Kaliforians). These people vote Democrat, because the Dems keep holding anmesties which allow illegal immigrants to get green cards. They also ignored the majority of the voters who voted against *illegal* immigrants getting government aid. Add to that all the people who grew up with the teachings of the PRK's 60's radical liberals, and the guilt of the rich who have been told for decades that they should be ashamed to have worked hard and earned money, and you end up with the Kaliban government. While there are lots of patriots here, and staunch ones at that, we are vastly outnumbered, and continue to lose ground numerically. Anybody want to talk about the extremely liberal Northeast?
I remember when George W. Bush won in 2000 and there was that map of the U.S. showing where Gore was strongest by a color legend. It seems all major population areas are largely Democratic and remember too, that these big cities like Chicago and others have tried some major anti-gun tactics in courts and legislatures. California has L.A and San Francisco and their respective metropolitan areas as its most Democratic and Liberal areas, much of the rest of the state is much more conservative. Sacramento, where the State Government is seated is not where this liberal ideology comes from and is quite conservative considering the image California has nationwide. |

I'm really behind on California's one gun a month requirement. I didn't buy anywhere near 12 guns last year. I think I only bought 3 or 4. I'll try to make up for it this year. I'm off to a good start, 3 guns so far this month, but one doesn't count because I'm trading for it.
 7.62Gunner, I actually agree with yours and Troy's earlier post, that California is a lost cause. I don't get involved too much anymore and I let my CRPA membership expire. Doesn't do any good. I think we're well past the soap box/ballot box stage. BTW, turn off your caps lock. |

USP Tacticals and MK23s are PRK "assault weapons". The other USPs have all passed and are on the approved list, except that in most cases, you can only order them in Variant 1. The Kaliban requires seperate listings for any changes, and so HK has only had Varient 1 setups tested for most models. Once you get it, you can change it if you wish.

Major metro & coastal areas are typically more liberal than rural, inland regions. Like any common parasite, they infect the nice, healthy areas and slowly suck the life out.
 The old-timers up here have told me that the area used to be soundly conservative (gun-wise anyhow); even used to be class 3 legal. I lived in the central valley area in Kali for 27 yrs., and it is a fairly conservative locale. Madera Co. actually issues CCW permits. I now live in King Co. WA, and there is no shortage of Libbies up here who want to deprive the rest of us, for  safety. But there are too many of us sewer rats in the political ecosystem for those meek mice to easily contend with. We don't go down so easily.
