Hello all,
There has been some confusion in the past if a certain mount would VOID the warranty of a PVS-14? I went ahead and talked with Mike Kendrick from ITT warranty and customer service Dept. yesterday. He stated that if one uses a M69, ARMS 29, GG&G Multi-Flex base/PVS-14 ring (which ITT likes, ;-), Larue, etc. this will
NOT void the warranty of your PVS-14. It's been awhile since I talked with the warranty folks (a good thing usually
) and Mike also informed me that a long time back they tried to only reccommend the use of the PRI mount. This was long before the rest of the NV mounting players came on board. Mike went on to say that with all the current high quality mounts out there, NONE of the mounts will void any such ITT warranty with their PVS-14 line.
I also asked the hard line question about what happens if someone mounts a ring type mount on the lens instead of the actual ring body housing and the lens snapps?....His reply, "I would have no way of knowing this and our warranty covers ALL defects."
Well I hope this dispels some confusion on the current PVS-14 mounting solutions out there.
Vic
Edited to add: Since we're on the subject of the "ring/lens mounting systems" out there...These are made to SLIDE TO THE VERY REAR OF THE LENS ONTO THE RING BODY HOUSING! Most of these systems are a bit tight tight begin with, especially the ARM#29 ring. Make sure you slide the ring ALL THE WAY BACK, do not mount this ring to the actual lens of the PVS-14.
