I have a great-shooting 700 SPS in a H&S stock with mucho krylon on it. I was thinking about getting all that mess off the stock and having it hyro dipped in MC. There's a local guy who can do it. I've seen his work on a few guns and other items, and it looks solid. I WON'T be getting the action or barrel done at this point, or probably ever. Gotta confess though, I don't know much about it. Questions:
1. Is this technique worth a shit?
2. can this be done WITHOUT getting that stuff into my bedding block or anywhere else that it may effect the fit of my action in the stock.

1. It's a process, not a product, so without knowing the coater's exact steps and materials used first hand, no one can answer this question.

2. Yes. As long as the answer to number 1 includes "they know what they are doing".
