Anyone have one? I'm curious how wide they can open...
I'm looking to find a pouch/bag/something to carry an air tank that is about the width of a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi and I'm having trouble getting much perspective from pics online. |

you doing HALO or breaching with a torch, man?
eh don't answer that. on a serious note: Bottles are heavy. I'd be concerned with HSGI's affinity for shock/bungee cord in carrying a cylinder with a regulator on it. Mainly due to the bounce that would be involved in the shock-cord when moving. I'd want something more like 2" nylon webbing, or at the VERY least 550 cord holding that badboy down. |

pics I'm seeing look like it will securely hold a Nalgene bottle (about 32oz). That's somewhere in the ballpark of half the diameter you're talking at best, and WAY less on the weight.

You'd laugh if you knew what I was doing with it.
I'm not super concerned with the weight, I'd probably end up mounting it to a belt with RCS moduloaders with pancake wings, this would be pretty stable and the wide foot print would help with the load, then I would use a padded shoulder harness to further keep the weight off. Problem is I want to run a small plate carrier or chest rig too, really only need room on the plate carrier for 4 rifle mags but I'm uncertain where I would mount the tank on the plate carrier if I went that route, I can't see the tank being anywhere near comfortable or safe mounted along my back... I don't want to go falling onto a steel tank against my spine |

Man, I think you'd really be stretching. If you have a 1L steel tank, I assume it would have a regulator, some other hardware we're talking about what 18#? Why not an AL tank? Is it a bail out bottle you're carrying?
Pretty sure DBT made a case for some that looked pretty good and carried like a radio pouch on a plate carrier/vest. |

I'd be looking for dedicated pouches for your tank. I've got a bunch of BT pouches with molle webbing that hold 140rd tubes. I'd be very surprised if they don't make a tank pouch. Are you running that thing on CO2 or HPA? Personally I could never stand running remote for paintball; always ended up with a bottomline setup or an old-school back-bottle. The mask tends to fuck up your ability to use sights with a traditional stock. |

Had major issues running co2 directly to the ASA and I'm sticking with HPA now. I am using a dye i4 mask and it gets me close enough that I think I can run a PA microdot with a riser and a 45 degree offset to get me where I want to be at the public fields. Private woods ball I'll probably just run goggles and a face gaiter of some type and use the riser without the 45 degree. |
