Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - How to take out the bolt on Rem 1100?

How do I take it out of the reciever? Its an older model and Ive never had it that far apart. Is it very easy or more trouble than its worth?

Pull out the bolt handle, reach up inside the receiver from the bottom where you would load the shells and push in and hold the shell latch on the right side of the receiver.  The bolt should now come out.  Very easy.

This may seam weird but I can not get the bolt handle out.  Is there a trick to this or what?

Give the operating handle a good yank straight out. It's only held in by a spring-loaded plunger.
