Type 01.  As for winning a contract, you usually need to know someone on the inside of the department.

Oh, and if they want to buy anything from HK, Benelli, or Beretta for a LE sale, don't tell these manufacturers that you're buying for a particular department or they'll deal direct and cut you out of the sale.

To get into the LE sales you are really going to have to get to know them.

LE agencies typically do not want to deal with anyone they do not know, or have not heard about.

Many years ago it was very hard to get in with them, after several years we got in with a few, now all the local agencies come to us.

Talk to the chief. Small Depts is not hard. My chief said he wants to buy from local FFLs. Of course, it is a small dept, so we are only looking at a dozen guns or so at a time.

I go to those small town family/fun days where PD is often on display to talk to citizens, then just strike up a conversation. Bring some business cards.
