Real simple for me, as most of you know me here I found a really easy way to get the OK from the SO to buy a giraud trimmer. All I had to do was to ask her to trim chamfer and deburr 10 cases of 308. Initally I was going to have her do just 50 but then after 5 or 6 she was like to hell with the manual trimmer and the chamfer/deburr tool.

Granted it will probably be a year or 2 before we can afford it but when we can though.

I got mine yesterday! I told the wife two of my sons help me buy it. She doesn't know the price. I got it setup in 223 with 30-06 and 308 conversion parts. I plan to scan my invoice and shred it.

Kinda the same for me, I was prepping cases and the Mrs. ask to help and after we got done she said "Their has got to be a easier way to do this" and I said " Sure is but you gotta pay for that luxury" and then I showed her and she said "What we don't have it yet" well I took no lax time in getting on the phone and since Doug is only 20 mins from me had this in about 10 days and got the one on one training session from the man himself

Damn, you guys are lucky.  I hooked the GF up with the Zip trim and she ENJOYED it.

Now I have trouble doing my own reloading she wants to do everything.  I need more presses so I can pull the handle myself.

Well admittedly how I did it will obviously not work for everything and in some cases backfire I admit.  Nah in reality it will take me a fe years to be able to get one as the wife is currently in school and hasn't been able to find a job and I lost my job back in Dec. Am still looking but it's rough out there right now.

I called my order in on Monday.  I was told Doug's all caught up and he may get to mine this weekend!  Hope so.  I only ordered the .223 version, but after manually trimming sixty 30-06 cases this week, I think I want that one too.

ETA:  I just bought my wife an anniversary ring.  That helped, but was way more expensive than having her trim cases.  I'll try that next time.  :)

Thinking about this here for a moment.............

I wonder if Doug's sales go up substantially as a result from this post, would he be inclined to give me a discount, LOL j/k

FYI, you don't have to buy a new unit to trim 30.06.  You can add in the 30.06 case holder for $30.  If you want you can have Doug include a second trimming blade so that you don't have adjust the blade each time you change calibers.  IIRC, total cost is $75 for the case holder and blade.  If you give Doug a call you can just have him add the parts to your order.

When and that is a big WHEN, I will eventually have the money for one of his beautiful machines I would plan on having it set for 308 to begin with and have him add for 223 and 30-06 as well.

That is actually a good question dryflash, I do wonder how many he has sold?

I have an RCBS electric trimmer and would love to upgrade to a Giraud trimmer.  I wish his was out or I knew about it when I bought mine, I know where the money would have gone.

If you referring to the Giraud, Doug showed me the cutter has 3 sides and I most likely will not wear out one

Yes I was making referance to the Giraud.  The reason I ask is on my Dillon trimmers that  carbide cutter has 3 sides too.  But after about 10K it gets  just a little dull and starts to leave a small burr.  Which is not a big deal it comes off during getting the lube tumbled off.  If I was to get one of these I was wanting to rough trim on the Dillon ( since I have to run the brass though it anyway) then  polish the lube off before the final trim.  If I was going to need a spare cutter I would get it with the unit.  I process a whole lot of .223 brass.
